ABOUT OUR CENTER

WELCOME TO THE SOTAESAN CENTER

Welcome to The Sotaesan Center. (dba. Won Buddhism of Austin)

The Sotaesan Center as a non-profit organization is open to the public who are interested in cultivating spirituality and humanity. The Center offers meditation, mind study, and Won-Buddhism studies and welcomes anyone whether you are a serious practitioner or a simply curious visitor. The center also operates a small free library for the public. It has a collection of books related to spiritual inspiration, meditation, mind study, philosophy, Buddhism, and Won-Buddhism.

In December of 2014, Won Media was added to the Sotaesan Center. Won Media has a small bookstore carrying the similar collection as the library and handles publishing, printing, copy, and graphic design. In May of 2015, Won Media also began online bookstore (www.wonmediabook.com) focusing on meditation and Won Buddhism books primarily.

MISSION STATEMENT

TO RESTORE THE TRUE SELF

The mission of the Sotaesan Center is to provide the space for one’s nurturing holistic well-being and spiritual growth.

To realize that goal, in this era when human minds could lose equilibrium by heavily depending on material civilization, the Sotaesan Center is creating a spiritual community where people from all walks of life study mind and dharma, practice and work together, regardless of their faiths, in order to enlighten their minds and to develop their spirituality.

The Sotaesan Center is a place where people can strive to restore their true self through faith in the universal truth and practical spiritual training, based on the teachings of Sotaesan, the founding master of Won Buddhism.
